Location

Nelson County is nestled in the heart of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Within this bounty of natural beauty are miles of hiking trails, crystal-clear fishing streams, historic family orchards and farms, and award-winning dining possibilities. 45 miles of the Appalachian Trail lie in Nelson County with moderately challenging to rugged terrain. Nelson’s northern border is the first 30 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway and its southern border is the mighty James River. For those who love the outdoors, Nelson County offers skiing, tubing, golfing, kayaking, and a myriad of other recreational activities. 

 

Who May Apply

All applicants must hold (or be eligible by June 30, 2024) a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision PK-12. A minimum of five years teaching experience is required.

 

EVALUATIONS: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Administrative Staff Personnel.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:   12 Month - Exempt Position

Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
