This is a 3 hour position whose main job duty is to operate the cash register.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
|
To work under the general supervision of the School Nutrition Manager in performing a variety of duties related to the accounting of monies collected during meal times.
|

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
|
Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent. Has the ability to work accurately with monetary receivables and possesses high integrity as it relates to accepting responsibility for all monies collected. Has some knowledge and experience with computer applications. Has the ability to learn the point of sale software program. Has the ability to learn and identify a school lunch as defined by the National School Lunch Program. Has the ability to relate well to students, staff, and parents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
|
- Accurately identifies a school lunch that complies with the meal pattern of the National School Lunch Program.
- Collects all monies from students and adults during meal times with speed and accuracy through the operation of a point of sale computer.
- Counts money in drawer each day and reconciles daily income received following standardized procedures.
- Relates well to students during the performance of job duties and assists in the promotion of the school nutrition program.
- Cooperates with building principal and school employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
|
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED). Experience working with monetary receivables, including balancing a cash drawer and operating a point of sale register. Knowledge of school nutrition practices preferred.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
|
Part Time – 180 Days
3 hours per day, Monday – Friday in accordance with the District’s academic calendar.
